“Writing short is harder than writing long. Everything matters. An entire narrative — a life, a death, a drink, a fling — must be bent into the space of a poem”
The 2012 Esquire Short Short Fiction contest has recently opened.
It is an extremely interesting medium for which to write, and I myself have already begun musing certain ideas. Just for kicks. I urge any writer – even if you’re a novice (like me!) – to participate in this great initiative with the Aspen Writers’ Foundation.
Here is the link to the Esquire webpage. In light of this contest, the great publication has received collaborations from many of the world’s most renown authors, such as my main men Dave Eggers and Geoff Dyer. http://www.esquire.com/fiction/fiction-contest-0612#slide-9
